Containment decides what an agent can reach. Intended decides what it should do.
NVIDIA OpenShell is a containment runtime: kernel-isolated sandboxes with a resource allow-list. Intended is the authority layer above it — it decides, per intent, what that containment should permit, mints a single-use Authority Token for the action, and leaves an offline-verifiable receipt. Patent Pending.
02 · Three layers, one stack
NVIDIA OpenShell
Can this agent reach this resource? Kernel isolation, a resource allow-list, quarantine on violation. Resource-level — it does not evaluate semantic intent.
Intended
Should this action happen? Open Intent classification, deterministic policy, a single-use Authority Token, an offline-verifiable receipt. Semantic intent — the decision containment can’t make.
AWS CloudWatch Omni · Datadog · Grafana
What did the agent do? Telemetry and traces. Intended gives them a signed decision worth recording.

Open Intent → OpenShell policy compilation
The @intended-inc/perimeter compiles Open Intent families and policy into a valid NVIDIA OpenShell containment policy (filesystem, process, per-endpoint network rules, Landlock). Validated against the launched OpenShell policy schema. Apache 2.0.
Physical-AI geofencing
Geofences are not part of OpenShell’s resource schema — a geofence is a semantic boundary on what an action may do. Intended enforces it in the authority layer and at the edge verifier, above containment. A differentiator, not a gap.
Runtime per-action authorization inside OpenShell
Asking Intended for an ALLOW/ESCALATE/DENY per action at runtime from inside the OpenShell/DOCA path is on the roadmap — it needs an integration hook the open runtime does not expose today. We do not claim it until it ships.
Intended’s physical-AI edge verifier is Early Access — in research; not production; not safety-certified. NVIDIA, OpenShell, DOCA, and CloudWatch are trademarks of their respective owners; naming a layer is not a claim of partnership or endorsement.
